Frequently Asked Questions
Who decides which school sends and which receives the notebook?
The organiser coordinates the notebook’s journey and assigns the sending and receiving schools in each country, ensuring a continuous route.
How much time do we have to write our messages?
Each country has approximately one week to 10 days for the handover process, which means that each participating school usually has one day to write messages in the notebook before it is passed on. We recommend that schools prepare their messages in advance, so that when the notebook arrives, the messages can simply be written in, printed and pasted, or attached as artwork. This ensures a smooth and timely transition to the next school or country, while allowing students to reflect thoughtfully on their contributions.
How long does the notebook stay at each school?
The notebook stays at each school for a short time – typically just a day – to allow all participating schools in the country to contribute within the one-week timeframe.
The journey starts on 2nd June?
Yes, the international journey officially begins on 2nd June 2025 with a launch event in Slovenia.
Don't forget to follow our website and the news section, where we will report on the first handovers.
Do we need permission from parents for students to participate?
Yes, please make sure to obtain parental consent, especially if students will be photographed or named in any public materials.
Will we be contacted when it's our country's turn to receive the notebook?
Yes, you will be contacted in advance by your national coordinator or the international team to confirm dates and delivery details.
I don’t know if my country is participating, but I would like to take part in the project. What should I do?
We have invited the national coordinators of the ASPnet network to participate. If you did not receive the invitation or may have missed it, please write to us at windofpeace@aspnet.si, and we will inform you who is coordinating the project in your country.
I received a message that the notebook is coming to my country. What should I do?
Your task is to get in touch with the coordinator from the previous country. Arrange the handover directly with them. If possible, we suggest organizing a live event for the exchange, where children and young people from both countries can meet. If that is not feasible, then agree on an alternative handover method (courier service or similar).

I received a message about where to send the notebook from my country. What should I do?
See the previous question.
Will the messages in the notebook be shared online for others to read?
Yes –messages will be published continuously on the project’s official website, as the notebooks travel from country to country. This way, participants and the wider public can follow the journey and be inspired by the voices of young people.
Can we also prepare the notebook material in advance and then paste it in later?
Of course, that’s a great idea! The notebook is A4 size, so we suggest that the contributions you prepare in advance be slightly smaller to make pasting them in easier.
At our meeting, someone asked whether we can also include a QR code in the notebook that would lead to multimedia content. Absolutely! Every idea is welcome.
