Zoom meetings between schools participating in the Wind of Peace Project
As part of the UNESCO Wind of Peace project, numerous international Zoom meetings took place during the 2025/2026 school year, connecting students and teachers from different parts of the world and encouraging reflection on peace, cooperation, and intercultural understanding.

Wind of Peace Handover Event: Germany • Flanders • the Netherlands • Slovenia
On 26 September 2025, Maastricht hosted the Wind of Peace Handover Event, bringing together young people from Germany, Flanders, and the Netherlands. The gathering took place at Porta Mosana College Maastricht, with the participation of Bischöfliches Piusgymnasium Aachen and GO! Next Het Atheneum Hasselt.

The Wind of Peace is in the Land of the Rising Sun – Japan
The Wind of Peace was warmly welcomed by the students and teachers of Chiba Prefectural Matsudo International High School. Butterflies and sunflowers – symbols of hope and peace – were beautifully expressed in their work.

The Wind of Peace arrived in Moldova, carrying white balloons of hope into the sky
The sixth Wind of Peace notebook was travelling fast across the skies — from Romania to Moldova. Children from UNESCO Associated Schools in Moldova shared their vision of peace through drawings, paintings, and heartfelt messages. They expressed what peace means to them — not only through art and words, but also through movement, music, and smiles.

Romania joins the Wind of Peace international journey
Romania joined the Wind of Peace through the Deutsche Schule Hermann Oberth International School, a member of the Romanian ASPnet. Their students from the 7th grade prepared creative and heartfelt messages calling for peace, safety, and mutual respect in a world challenged by war, refugee crises, and climate change.

The Wind of Peace is blowing in Portugal
The Wind of Peace notebook has reached Agrupamento de Escolas Soares Basto in Oliveira de Azeméis, a UNESCO Associated School, where students and teachers joined the journey of Wind of Peace.

Voice of Slovakia in the Wind of Peace
The second Wind of Peace notebook has journeyed from Austria to its neighbours in the east, arriving at Gymnázium sv. Košických Mučeníkov in Slovakia. Here, pupils filled its pages with beautifully illustrated messages about faith in peace.

Messages for peace from Spanish students in the travelling Wind of Peace notebook
Students from IES Giner de los Ríos Alcobendas in Spain filled the Wind of Peace notebook no. 4 with beautiful drawings and heartfelt messages of hope and need to unite.

Canada added its voice to the Wind of Peace notebook
Just before the summer break, students and teachers from two UNESCO Associated Schools (ASPnet) in Québec, Canada shared their messages for peace in the Wind of Peace travelling notebook.

Six French UNESCO Associated Schools joined forces for the Wind of Peace
France was the third stage in the journey of notebooks 3 and 4, which departed from Slovenia with a stop in Italy. French students filled six pages before sending them onward to Spain and the United Kingdom.

During the summer our Wind of Peace notebooks were travelling around the world collecting messages, drawings, poems from students who shared their messages for peace, end of wars and a brighter future.

Young voices from Mexico carry the Wind of Peace
Students from the Mexican institute IDHAE took part in the international Wind of Peace initiative, led by UNESCO. In the video, they share a heartfelt message of peace, hope and friendship between nations.

Children in Croatia hope their voices for peace will reach those who can end wars
The Two Winds of Peace notebooks have just passed through Croatia. Students from Primary School Braće Radić (Zagreb), Secondary School Metković, Primary School Bjelovar, Primary School Bijaći (Kaštel Novi), and Primary School Kneza Trpimira (Kaštel Gomilica) wrote messages about peace, hope, and unity.

Global Voices in the Wind of Peace Project: Peru, Belarus, Moldova and Iraq
From Peru to Belarus, Moldova to Iraq, students around the world joined the Wind of Peace project by sharing heartfelt messages and creative reflections. Their voices show that peace can be carried across borders—through words, drawings, and the will to connect.

Austria's Voices for Peace: Messages of Dreams, Music, and Wishes
Between 2 and 26 June 2025, two Wind of Peace notebooks journeyed through Austria, carrying the heartfelt thoughts, reflections, and artistic expressions of young people from different regions. From poetic messages to sincere calls for a change, Austrian students spoke.

Italian Pupils from Gorizia Speak to the Presidents of the World
During their final days of school, the students of Primary School Oton Župančič Gorizia in Italy received two notebooks from Slovenia — and filled it with strong messages for the presidents of the world.

The Wind of Peace Has Also Reached Novi Sad, Serbia
To our great joy, individual schools from different countries have also decided to take part in the Wind of Peace project. Among those to send us a message was students attending supplementary Slovenian language classes at the Society of Slovenians Kredarica Novi Sad, Serbia.

Notebook handover in Piran, Slovenija
On June 2nd, a meaningful handover ceremony took place at the Herman Pečarič Gallery in Piran, where the pupils of the Primary School Cirila Kosmača Piran passed on two special notebooks filled with their thoughts, messages, and wishes for a peaceful world. The notebooks were received by Mrs. Anna Roversi from the Primary School Otona Župančiča in Gorizia.

Notebook Handover in Pišece, Slovenija
Notebooks 5 and 6 were handed over in Pišece, Slovenia, to students from Osnovna šola braća Radić in Zagreb, Croatia.

One of the notebooks (Notebook 1) began its journey in Kranjska Gora, where it was picked up by students from neighboring Austria.
