UN Climate Change Adaptation Competitions for Children and Youth

16. september 2020

The UN Climate Change Adaptation Committee has launched two exciting climate change adaptation-related competitions for children and youth: an Adaptation Visual Art Competition for children ages 17 and under, and an Adaptation Youth Policy Case Competition for youth ages 18-30.

The Adaptation Visual Art Competition invites children from around the world to showcase their vision for a climate-resilient future for a chance to be featured in UN Climate Change publications and win a prize.
Further details, including the competition rules, are available at http://tep-a.org/artcompetition/.

The Adaptation Youth Policy Case Competition invites youth from around the world to form teams of 3-5 individuals, choose an adaptation-related challenge they are passionate about (their chosen case study), and propose an innovative solution to the challenge. The winning team will be invited to join COP 26 and receive a platform there to share their idea.
Further details, including the competition rules, are available at http://tep-a.org/casecompetition/.

Both competitions are intended to encourage children and youth to learn more about climate change adaptation, and demonstrate the ingenuity and creativity of young people in envisioning and working towards a more climate-resilient world. The extended deadline for both competitions is 30 September 2020.
