Razpis UNESCO Week for Peace and Sustainable Development: the Role of Education

UNESCO and the Canadian Commission for UNESCO are jointly organizing the “UNESCO Week for Peace and Sustainable Development: the Role of Education” in Ottawa, Canada from 6 to 10 March 2017. The Week presents a unique platform for discussion on two key programmes of UNESCO’s Education Sector, namely Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Global Citizenship Education (GCED), and their practical contribution in achieving Target 4.7 of the Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Education.
The Week will focus on the issue of teachers and teacher training, and highlight best practices in the fields of ESD and GCED. Such practices can be found throughout the UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet) and we want to showcase a number of successful and innovative initiatives during the Education Week.
In this regard, UNESCO is inviting ASPnet teachers to share their experiences and practices around ESD and/or GCED, during the different sessions as well as in the dedicated ASPnet Exhibition Booths.

Please find attached the ASPnet Application Form. The deadline for the submission of teacher applications is 17 January 2017.
Application modalities are the following:
- Every ASPnet National Coordinator is invited to submit a maximum of two applications (one female, one male) for teachers leading ESD or GCED initiatives in an ASPnet member school or teacher training institution (please refer to the OTA Directory of member schools).
- Participants must have very good language proficiency in either English or French.
- For every candidate, the fully completed application form with a scanned copy of their valid passport should be submitted to aspnet@unesco.org.
UNESCO will communicate the results of the call for applications to the ASPnet National Coordinators and to the applicants directly by 24 January 2017.
Participation in the Week is by invitation only. Formal invitations to successful applicants will be issued.
