Pilot testing of Sport Values Toolkit
21. april 2018
Convinced that sport, as an enabler of sustainable development, provides a universal framework for learning values and teaching transferable life skills, we are pleased to share with you a sample of the ”Sport Values in Every Classroom. Teaching respect, equity and inclusion to 8-12 year-old students” toolkit for teachers and educators.
The toolkit was developed by an Education Partnership comprising UNESCO, the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE), the International Fair Play Committee (IFPC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The toolkit is based on research conducted by AIESEP and peer-reviewed by an international team of specialists.
To be able to finalize this publication, UNESCO and its partners are seeking your kind cooperation to select teachers from a representative range of countries and systems for its field-testing. The objective of this consultation is to ensure that the toolkit is relevant and useful for its intended end-user.
The materials for the pilot phase include a selection of 12 activity cards (four activity cards for each of the three core values) and a quick guide for teachers. The pilot materials will be available in English, French and Spanish, in both printed and electronic formats.
To help you in this task, please find enclosed guidelines for the selection of teachers in your respective countries. An online questionnaire will be available in early May 2018.
We would be most grateful if you could indicate your interest, and send us the attached table with the names, contact details and preferred language (EN, FR, SP) of teachers who are ready to participate in the pilot phase before 30 April.
Should you have any query, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Raluca Petre-Sandor (ir.petre-sandor@unesco.org).
We thank you for your kind cooperation.
Best regards,
Sabine Detzel
