Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week 2018

9. oktober 2018

Disinformation, hate speech, violent extremism, and privacy issues have become commonplace today in the fields of information and communication. Schools play an essential role in empowering citizens, especially young citizens, with media and information literacy competencies to cope with these issues.

The annual Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week will be celebrated this year from 24 to 31 October, under the theme “Media and Information Literate Cities: Voices, Powers and Change Makers”. Official website: https://en.unesco.org/globalmilweek2018

Its Feature Conference and Youth Agenda Forum will be held in Lithuania and Latvia, from 24 to 25 October 2018 and on 26 October 2018, respectively. MIL-related local celebration events and activities will be organized by stakeholders from around the globe.

More details about how UNESCO Associated Schools can get involved in Global MIL Week 2018 will come shortly.
